The Life Of A Bull

G-Man Trades His Guitar For The Gray Flannel Suit

February 20th, 2005 -- "February 10th – a date that will live in infamy. Ironic, is it not, that Arthur Miller dies and a salesman is born." So quotes the distraught leader of the vee Revolution upon hearing the news.

Yes friends, it is sad but true – in a turn not even O’Henry could have envisioned, G-Man has forsaken his six-string. Alas, the lure of Wall Street is a powerful one. Knowing our fans are ever wanting the lowdown, the vee device webteam vowed to get to the bottom of this...

Webteam:"So why stock brokerage?"
G-Man:"The roots for my love affair with IPOs and P/E ratios can be traced back to my nascent adolescence. Righto. I remember the day well. A perfect day as it were. In my hands I held Fitzgerald’s great American novel. How can I possibly describe the sensation, the thoughts running through my brain? Enamoured. Lavish soirees and the Gold Coast. Glimmers across Long Island Sound. I found my heroes in Jay and Nick, even role-models."
Webteam:"Didn’t Gatsby end up dead and Carraway head back to Minnesota?"
G-Man:"Well, yes... but one thing sets me apart from their ilk."
Webteam:"What’s that?"
G-Man:"A lack of scruples."
Webteam:"Hmmm... Moving on. It seems controversy always surrounds the speculative arts. Does that worry you at all?"
G-Man:"Not in the least. I’m a child of the Savings & Loan scandal. I’ve learned my lessons well. Besides, I’ve done my research, read all the important biographies and whatnot. Black and Scholes were nobodies. Soon, everyone will be using the G-Equation. It’ll do for speculation what Watson and Crick did for DNA."
Webteam:"So you’ve had it with music then?"
G-Man:"Please, good sir, I will not trouble myself with such idle pursuits again. Now, I’m putting my time towards something that is really important. Money."

Alas. There is no joy in Mudville. It looks like Joltin'G has indeed left and gone away. Here's hoping he finds success out there in lower Manhattan.

Long Live The vee Revolution.
